Judith Guevarra Enriquez joined the Department of Learning Technologies in September 2008. Before coming to UNT, she was a Research Fellow at the Learning Science Research Institute, University of Nottingham, UK. In November 2007, she obtained her PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. She has held various positions in her academic career. These include a lecturer's post in Information and Computer Science at Curtin University located in Sarawak, Malaysia and a learning technologist's post at the Centre for Learning and Teaching in Aberdeen. Prior to pursuing an academic career, she was a system analyst and a GIS (geographical information system) assistant both in the Philippines. Dr Enriquez' (please call me Judith) current research interests focus on literacy practices, emerging technologies and computer-mediated communication. She has always championed interdisciplinary in her research by venturing into other intellectual traditions outside the 'comfort zones' of Computing or Information Technology, drawing from science, technology studies, organization and media science, cultural psychology, sociology and linguistics.
