CSID leads interdisciplinary efforts at UNT

CSID fosters the intellectual exploration of issues in interdisciplinarity by providing multiple venues for UNT students, staff, and faculty to gather together to discuss interdisciplinarity, including:

  • the CSID Speaker Series, which sponsors both prominent and emerging interdisciplinarians to spend some time interacting with the UNT community
  • a Monthly Seminar, which will provide a venue especially for UNT educators and researchers to discuss their own forays into the interdisciplinary field

CSID fosters the integration of interdisciplinary research and education by:

  • helping scientists and engineers address the "broader impacts" of their research
  • teaming with others to teach our own interdisciplinary courses, which grounds our own interdisciplinary theory development - something we use to help others with the practice of their own interdisciplinary teaching and research
